Is anything actually free?
Yes. The full engineer core — RePPIT coaching, agent-readiness audit, diff/docs check, PR readiness, local XP, Claude Code plugin — is free forever and runs entirely on your machine. No account required.
What's the difference between Took and Pipp?
Took is the engineer core: a disciplined workflow coach. Pipp is a mode that adds plain-English narration of every agent action, leveled cited learning resources, and heightened guardrails — designed for non-technical builders who want to understand what's happening, not just have it happen.
Is Pipp Health a compliance certification?
No. Pipp Health assesses and surfaces compliance signals against HIPAA/SOC2/HITRUST checklists. It does not certify compliance with any framework and is not a substitute for qualified legal or security counsel. Organizational controls require human verification.
Does Took send my code anywhere?
By default, nothing leaves your machine. The free tier is 100% local. Pro sync is opt-in and sends only derived metrics and XP — never raw code, prompts, or diffs (unless you explicitly enable that). You can run the full tool forever with no sync.
Can I use my own API key?
Yes. Took is local-first; for LLM-heavy features (Pipp narration, advanced coaching), you can bring your own Anthropic API key. This reduces cost for heavy users and keeps everything on your infrastructure.
What if I'm a team with both technical and non-technical members?
You can mix: engineers on Took/Pro, non-technical collaborators on Pipp, regulated workflows on Pipp Health. The two-axis governor handles different registers within the same repo.
